We Believe……
We believe in the Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments in their original writing as fully inspired of God and accept them as the supreme and final authority for faith and life.
We believe in one God, externally existing in three persons—Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
We believe that Jesus Christ was begotten of the Father, conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the virgin Mary and is true God and true man and that He died on a cross paying the full price for our sin and that He was raised again from the dead and is sitting at the right hand of God until His return at God’s appointed time to gather His church to spend eternity with Him.
We believe that all who repent of their sin and receive Jesus Christ as Lord by faith are born again of the Holy Spirit and thereby become children of God.
We believe in the baptism in the Holy Spirit and in His power to fulfil the commandment of Jesus (Matt 28:18-20) to go and make disciples of all nations and to baptise them in the Name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
We believe that the local church is part of the Body of Christ and in the Biblical appointment of leaders and submission to them.
We do……
We Honour God, advance His Kingdom make disciples and raise up leaders.
We relate to……..
We are part of the Every Nation group of churches which is a God honouring, disciple making, church planting, relationally connected organisation.
Dr Fred Robberts
Founder and Senior Pastor of Durban Christian Centre, “Uncle Fred”, as Dave calls him, is a general of the faith who has been an anointed spirit-filled evangelist for more than 50 years!
Pastor Dave came to salvation after witnessing a miracle in Dr Robberts’ meetings in Kimberley in 1977 and was always mentored by him in some way.
This close personal relationship influenced Patria in an awesome way, especially in the early years and still today the leadership gift that operates through Dave and in Patria is influenced by the relationship with this God-fearing man!
Lordship
We value our relationship of obedience to the Lord Jesus Christ. The significance of everything we believe and do flows out of the reality of Jesus being Lord of our lives
Family
We recognise natural families as the basic “building block” of society. We recognise the church as the Family of God and believe that the church is the best example many will have of family, so let’s be a great Family.
Servant Leadership
Leadership is key for growth and the future of the church. We recognise that the ability to lead is present in each person to some extent. Patria will equip and empower people to develop to their own leadership potential.
Evangelism
Our love for the Lord is reflected in our love for the world. We delight to share our faith as individuals, in groups and as a family.
Discipleship
We are engaged in each other’s lives to love, encourage, exhort, impart and support one another to grow in faith and commitment to Christ, His family and the world.
